New training courses for 2008

Shared ownership and supported housing - one day seminar

This one day seminar is for management and staff in housing organisations who are planning to develop share ownership schemes for people in supported housing. This seminar is also for those who already have schemes in the pipe line. It looks at the risks and opportunities and when the benefit system can help to pay the housing costs.

Benefits For Leasehold Shared Owership Costs - public course

This one day public course is for staff who need to understand what benefits leaseholders and people with shared ownership homes can claim. Especially when they are having problems paying repair bills, leaseholder service charges and mortgage payments.

Care and support and benefits.

This two day course is for managers and financial staff working with people who are living in supported housing, in their own home with support, or in a Residential Care Home.

Maximising benefits - Reducing rent arrears

This two day course will enable staff to carry out the new rent arrears protocol guidance on good practice. The course covers all the aims of the protocol from identifying tenants entitlement to benefits to agreeing an affordable sum to pay towards arrears. It will improve rent collection and prevent getting the new protocol penalties.
